Kayaking

I enjoy a good paddle and living in Poole on the South coast means I can get out and about in my kayak.

That's my 14 foot Dagger Charleston on the mud, right in the middle of Poole Harbour. As you can see, it can get very shallow in the harbour when the tide goes out! The situation above is to be avoided, since dragging your boat whilst wading through mud, is not that much fun. (Although it does make it quite difficult to drown).

Having said that, it seems to me that the sea is a fickle creature. I have been 'safely' inside Poole Harbour and yet 'surfed' my kayak down pretty big waves...and yet have been outside the harbour in the cauldron of chaos - where I was almost unable to discern the separation between the sky and the sea! (See below). Amazing!
